Former New York City Cop Distressed After Being Fired For Drinking Tea Made from the Coca Plant

Alvaro Casado is suing the NYPD for being unfairly fired after testing positive on his drug test for cocaine. Casado had been sipping on tea made from the Coca plant which is known for producing cocaine. Cocaine (benzoylmethylecgonine) is a crystalline tropane alkaloid that is obtained from the leaves of the coca plant. It is a stimulant of the central nervous system and an appetite suppressant. A twist in the story is that Casado is also a member of the Air National Guard which concluded that he didn't knowingly take any illegal drug and is o.k. to serve.
